Fashion designer, Vanessa Moe, traces her love of creative expression and pushing of boundaries all the way back to childhood, where at a young age, she began upcycling her parents’ clothing. As a teen, she was designing formal wear for her sisters and friends and by college age, she had no doubts her passions lay with the fashion world.
She established herself in Sydney, Australia and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion There, she continued experimenting with various materials and methods leading her to become the first designer at the university to create 3D-printed apparel in Australia.
Just short of a year after graduating, Vanessa had the privilege of participating in the Australian Mercedes Benz Fashion Week as part of the St. George New Generation Program, an initiative to introduce emerging Australian fashion designers. The show presented a collection, which was featured in various publications globally, including the Huffington Post and the Daily Telegraph.
In 2017, Vanessa’s couture collection, CIRCLES, was featured at the Sao Paulo Fashion Week in Brazil, inspired by the culture richness of the Indigenous Australian people. One of the highlights of the show was the models for the collection, who traveled from various parts of Australia to Brazil, to mark the first time that a casting composed of all Aboriginal women were featured on an international catwalk.
Vanessa’s vision is to produce sophisticated and exceptional garments to meet a refined public who values originality, individuality, and style. To make apparel of such quality, Vanessa Moe does not work with mass-production, instead, giving every individual piece its own character, charm, and sense of elegance by using new technologies, techniques, and materials. She strives for her work to be socially and environmentally sustainable, while drawing inspiration from her global background, including culture, art, and music providing bespoke fashion influenced by the natural world with an edge of modernity.
Every piece composed by Vanessa Moe exudes luxury while maintaining versatility, uniqueness, and a sense of urbanity resulting in a world-class style, that continues to evolve, keeping her in the forefront of fashion design today.
